Rest In Peace George "Fluxy" Barrett

It is with great sadness that we will be gathering Friday January 13th 2017 to celebrate the life and passing of our brother George “Fluxy” Barrett. The service will be taking place at 11am at Bible-Way Pentecostal Church 2390 Coursol Street in Little Burgundy. Fluxy is a member of the radio show Roots Rock Reggae - that airs Sunday overnight - Monday mornings from 1am - to 4am. He, along with Johnny Black and, Pryme Tyme, originated the show in 1994. He died peacefully January 8th after a brief battle with cancer.

The last show Fluxy did on CKUT was November 21st and is available on our archives here.

We also have a clip from the Roots Rock Reggae show circa 1994 on CKUT’s Time Capsule (a website with oldies but goodies from past programming at CKUT). In it Fluxy & Pryme Tyme answer a series of phone calls from listeners giving shout outs over the air. https://ckuttimecapsule.wordpress.com/1994/05/
