Tune in to Off the Hour, every weekday from 5-6pm, for all the best in community news from Montreal and beyond!

Featured on today’s program:

-Tomorrow is back to school day for thousands of kids across Quebec. On this occasion, members of the Education Across Borders Collective held a rally at the Marguerite Bourgeoys school board, to denounce the fact that hundreds of children are forced to stay at home because their parents don’t have a regularized immigration status. CKUT’s Salomé Parent was there to bring us a report.

-We’ll hear from Dafina Savic, a Roma organizer in Montreal, on the struggles of Roma refugees in Canada. This comes as migrant justice groups prepare for Rock n Roma, a fundraiser concert happening tomorrow night at Cafe l’Artère.

-Then, we bring you the latest edition of Talking Radical Radio. On this week’s episode, host Scott Neigh speaks with Andy Villanueva and Kerin Bethel-John. They are members of Project Slut, a collective of young women who set out to abolish the dress code in their high school and won, and who now have their sights set on transforming school dress codes across the entire Toronto District School Board.
