Featured on today’s show:

On April 22nd, the comment period will close at the Cana-dian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on a non-compliance complaint against Videotron, a Québecor subsidiary, owned by Pierre-Karl Peladeau. At stake is the status of Vidéotron’s community license for MaTV and 23 million dollars of public funds earmarked for community television in the greater Montreal area. We will be joined by Laith Marouf of ICTV, a proposed community TV station who filed the complaint.

We’ll also hear from the Canadian Teacher’s Federation about Bill C-23, the Fair Elections Act, currently under committee review in the House of Commons.

Montrealers took to the streets again last night to denounce austerity measures and the new Liberal government of Quebec. Anna Marchese from the CKUT news collective was out there with them to bring us a report.
