On today’s show:
The Migrant Workers Alliance for Change (MWAC), Canada’s largest migrant worker coalition, believes that the 5-point demands issued by the Liberal Party of Canada on the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) fail to respond to the needs of migrant workers or the Canadian labour market. We’ll hear from Syed Hussan of the group speaking about the struggles of migrant workers amidst these proposed changes.
We’ll hear an interview with bicycle activist and CKUT’s very own Gabrielle Anctil from En Profondeur about the dangers cyclists face in Montreal, but also what they’re doing to make the city more safe and bike-friendly.
We’ll be joined by Yannick Scott of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers in Montreal about the unions plans to resist the massive cuts to Canada Post recently announced by the Harper government.
We’ll hear from from Rachel Small of the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network about the recent assassination of a young anti-mining activist in Guatemala.
