Former writer and experimental music programmer for the long-cancelled but still-missed CBC Radio program “Brave New Waves,” in addition to being a former regular occupant of CKUT’s Wednesday 12-2 time slot (“The Music of Sound”, 1995-1999).

Turns up occasionally playing bass clarinet in a string of art-rock, jazz or weirdo bands (Exhaust, Set Fire to Flames, Ratchet Orchestra, Dubi and the Peacocks…)

June 6 Broken piano music pianos abused by Henry Cowell, John Cage, Conlon Nancarrow, Annie Gosfield and others

June 13 Early Cronenberg soundtracks strings, electronics, big-budget orchestras and zero-budget copyright-free tracks, plus the occasional exploding head.

June 20 Music and Language the pitches of human speech (René Lussier, Steve Reich, Gavin Bryars, David Mahler) plus “sound poetry” from Jaap Blonk, Henri Chopin and Makigami Koichi.

June 27 Music as Journalism Bob Ostertag enters a riot with a microphone and turns it into a string quartet Mazen Kerbaj plays trumpet on his balcony in Beirut with the Israeli Air Force bombing nearby
