Today on the show, we bring you the latest edition of Groundwire, community radio news from coast to coast to coast. Today’s episode was produced by Ophira Horwitz and voiced by Martha Fiddler and Kevin Kakegamic in the Sandy Lake First Nation, Ontario.

Then, this past Sunday was Mother’s Day, and Solidarity Across Borders held a Mothers Against Borders picnic in Jarry Park. The picnic was also a fundraiser to support the Bring Daniel Home campaign, and a mother who is fighting to bring home her teenage son who was deported to Mexico alone last October.

Finnaly, a recent healthcare project called EmpowerGAZA aims to bring solar energy to hospitals in the occupied Palestinian Gaza strip, that have been suffering from periodic power outages. CKUT’s Anna Marchese spoke to Dr. Ben Thomson of EmpowerGAZA to find out more.
