August 10th marks Prisoners’ Justice Day - a day to commemorate and remember all of those who have died at the hands of the prison system.
CKUT’s news show - Off the Hour - will focus on prison justice related issues all week long. The week will culminate with a special feature program from 5 to 6pm on August 10th with programming produced by Prison Radio.

Tune in to Radio is Dead this Monday, August 6th from 2 to 3PM, for a little radio drama. CKUT’s Youth Radio Campers will be voicing a rendition of HIPPIES, HOUSEWIVES, AND WATERING HOLES by D. M. Larson.
Expect surprise twists and improvisations in the making of a conventional radio play in an unconventional manner!

Monday at 11am on CKUT, the Immigrant Workers Centre (IWC) presents the account of a Mexican man who worked for up to 80 hours a week as a butcher in conditions tantamount to slavery.
“I was basically a slave,” he states. “There’s no other word to describe it.”

Roots Rock Rebel aired an exclusive interview with the legendary Jimmy Cliff on Wednesday, July 25th (10pm-12midnight).
Jimmy Cliff has just released a brand new full-length album -“Rebirth” produced by Tim Armstrong (of Rancid), and he’ll be headlining the Montreal International Reggae Festival on August 19th.
