Tune in to Radio Resistance from 5-6pm! Radio Resistance brings you alternative news and views from Haiti, the 4th Thursday of every month during Off the Hour.
In February, 2004, Canada, the US, and France organized and carried out a coup d’etat against Bertrand Aristide, the democratically-elected President of Haiti. February of this year marks the 10-year anniversary of that coup, with events happening across Canada to commemorate those sad events.
On today’s edition of Radio Resistance, host Steve Duvalsaint looks at the conditions in Haiti 10 years after the coup. We’ll hear from Mario Joseph of the Bureau des avocats internationaux, as well as Beatrice Lindstrom of the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti on the suit against the UN for their complicity in bringing cholera to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. The interview was produced by Beyond Focus Media.
