Off the Hour / Feb. 19, 5-6pm / From Iraq to Palestine, occupation is STILL a crime
Tune in to Off the Hour today from 5-6pm for in-depth views and analysis on the ongoing war in Iraq, and occupation of Palestine
Featured on today’s program:
We’ll spend the hour looking at solidarity movements against Western imperialism in the Middle East. It’s been nearly 13 years since the US invasion and war on Iraq of 2003, and the region remains in shambles today, with the Canadian government complicit in much of the violence. We’ll hear from Matthew Behrens of the Ottawa-based group Homes Not Bombs, talking about the current Trudeau Liberal government’s track record in Syria and Iraq.
McGill students are gearing up for a general assembly on Monday to vote on passing a Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, or BDS resolution against Israeli Apartheid. We’ll bring you more on the Palestine solidarity movement on campus.
But first up, a live studio panel on the decade-long war in Iraq, with American anti-war activist Kathy Kelly, and Tim Gauger of Demilitarize McGill.
