Transforming The Airwaves is a special, limited-edition radio residency series designed to get more BIPOC trans voices on air.
Residents have included Nick Saanto, who spotlighted local performers and musicians and hosted live performances and interviews from bars in the Village; Xander Chung, who presented 'The Gory Details,' a radio show exploring queer themes in horror; Miss Dupré Latour, hosting "You Bet Her!" with everything from an exclusive interview with Canada's Drag Race queen Giselle Lullaby to conversations with creatives and changemakers from across Montreal and beyond; Art Hoe Confessionals with Kim; and Azadi Radio (named after the Zan Zendegi Azadi, women life freedom movement in support of the ongoing Iranian Revolution) with Sloan.
This project is generously funded by the Community Radio Fund of Canada via the Radiometres program. A big thank you to the CRFC for making this possible.
