August 8, 2023: Interview w/ Children's Author Sade Smith
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Sadé Smith is a Canadian children's book author of Jamaican descent. Her books often involve food and recipes with colorful illustrations to capture the vibrancy and beauty of the Caribbean islands. In addition to writing, Sadé is also a design technologist who practices the skilled trades. She holds a Bachelor of Interior Design (Hons.) Degree and an Advance Diploma in Architectural Technology, as well as a certificate in Creative Book Publishing.
She loves the beach and enjoys fruits and when she is not writing, she is off on an adventure or travelling to a sunny destination. She is very passionate about literature and she writes books of representation for young readers.
"Granny’s Kitchen" is her debut picture book. Her second book Julie and the Mango Tree was published on August 8, 2023. Sadé can be found on social media @stc_smith or via her website www.sadetsmith.com.
