Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we remind you that time is running out to vote in the Maple Blues Awards. VOTING IS OPEN UNTIL DECEMBER 1, 2023 Go to www.mapleblues.ca Here are the nominees for Entertainer of the Year: The Blackburn Brothers, Angelique Francis, Blue Moon Marquee, Bywater Call, and Matt Andersen. This week's new releases are from Bob Corritore, Harlem Lake, Gwyn Ashton, Emma Wilson and the Cedar County Cobras. In the "history" part of the show I've got Robert Johnson, Robert Nighthawk, Johnny "Big Moose" Walker, H-Bomb Ferguson, Magic Sam, Shuggie Otis, Mike Morgan, Jody Williams, Bernard Allison, and Shakura S'aida. We'll close with a song from The Sugar Darlings who will be representing Quebec in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge. They will be performing a fundraising show at Petit Campus on Thursday and plenty of guests will be appearing, including our winning rep from last year Adam Karch. In a bizarre twist I also present the originals of two songs covered in tonight's show by duos that both consist of male guitarists and female standup bass players, namely Blue Moon Marquee and the Cedar County Cobras. And both originals are performed by Johnsons - Lonnie Johnson's "Another Night To Cry" and Robert Johnson's "Walkin' Blues".
