Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we're a week from Christmas and I have way too much music for a two hour show. So this week we'll start to get into the spirit with some of the new Xmas releases that have just arrived. I've got new music from Lisa Biales and Misty Blues as well as a great compilation from Blue Heart Records called "Jingle All The Way" from which we'll hear The Texas Horns with Teresa James, Rick Vito, and Jim Koeppel. They all deserve praise but for my money the Xmas award for a new release this year goes to "Big Harp George Does Christmas" - all originals crafted with warmth, humour and style. This week's new releases are from Phil Coyne and the Wayward Aces, D. Scott Riggs, and Rene Huard. In the "history" part of the show I've got Blind Lemon Jefferson, Memphis Minnie, Professor Longhair, Pee Wee Crayton, Jimmy Nolen, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Jimmy Rogers, Ten Years After, Mountain, Pops Staples, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. We'll close with a song from The Sugar Darlings who'll be at Upstairs on Thursday and may be your last chance to support our reps at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January.
