Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we congratulate this year's JUNO nominees for Blues Album Of The Year: the Blackburn Brothers, Brandon Isaak, Blue Moon Marquee, Michael Jerome Browne, and Matt Andersen. This week's featured new releases are from Tinsley Ellis and Seth James. We also pay tribute to an original rock 'n' roll rebel Mojo Nixon who "left the building" earlier this week. In the "history" part of the show I've got Bessie Smith, Lonnie Johnson, Blind Boy Fuller, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Little Walter, Magic Sam, B.B. King, Colin Perry & Peter Mika, Otis Clay, and Bob Corritore with Sugaray Rayford. We'll close with a song from Emily Estrella who will be appearing Saturday at the RED ROOF RENDEZ-VOUS SPEAKEASY SOIREE - VALENTINE'S CABARET & DANCE.

R.I.P. MOJO NIXON (Neill Kirby McMillan Jr. August 2, 1957 – February 7, 2024)
Talk Time ID         "How you live is how you should die. Mojo Nixon was full-tilt, wide-open rock hard, root hog, corner on two wheels + on fire…,” his family said in a statement on Facebook. “Passing after a blazing show, a raging night, closing the bar, taking no prisoners + a good breakfast with bandmates and friends." “A cardiac event on the Outlaw Country Cruise is about right… & that’s just how he did it, Mojo has left the building,” the statement continued. “Since Elvis is everywhere, we know he was waiting for him in the alley out back. Heaven help us all.”
