Panacea has the goal of initiating open conversations and reducing stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness. To do so, Michelle teaches 'mental health 101' and shares some of her own experiences living with mental illness.
The positive impact that mental health literacy can have in your own life, and for the people around you, is what drives her. If her words can inspire empathy and change at least one person's perspective or make someone feel less alone, then she has done her job. Join us for some fun tunes and vulnerable conversations!

May 30, 2024: COMM-UN: Social Justice, Healing, and Homelessness
In this segment, we are joined by Robbie and Jonathan from COMM-UN to talk about homelessness, and specifically, Indigenous homeless populations. We begin with a chat about homelessness itself: what is homelessness? does it exist? and touch on trauma, genetic memory and a house vs a home. we then address some of the systemic influences that contribute to the disproportionate amount of Indigenous peoples categorized as 'homeless' and the alternative coping strategies that individuals engage in. Following that conversation, we talk about individual and group healing, and the importance of community. Then, we end with a call to action from the 3 of us.
