Off The Hour is CKUT's in-house daily corporate-free news program. It reflects our community because it is made by our community. CKUT’s spoken word programming features alternative news, public affairs and arts and culture shows. We cover Montreal and McGill goings-on, LGBTQIA+ culture, environmental and social justice issues, feminism, theatre, African and Latin America current affairs, and more.

June 17, 2024: An eyewitness to the police violence on campus, and unpacking the encampment negotiations with SPHR & Prof. Darin Barney
On this week's show, listen to Athina's interview with an eyewitness to the brutal police violence on campus following the occupation of the James Administration building; Kai's interview with Rama Al-Malah of SPHR discussing the latest encampment news and SPHR's response to the administration's latest offer; and finally, Sequoia & Kai's interview with Professor Darin Barney—Chair of the Communications department and a long-time Divest supporter who once sat on the Board of Governors to try to push divestment from fossil fuels forward—who helps contextualize the encampment's calls for divestment with the history of Divest McGill. Hosted by Sequoia & Kai from CKUT's news collective.
