A show that highlights new research being conducted by underrepresented groups in STEM. Hosted by Allie, Amelie, and Nour, STEMinism comprises a mashup of interviews with scientists, young and old, where we summarize and discuss new published research in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand. We aim to make current research accessible to everyone, all the while playing some local tunes along the way.

Today we are joined by Carla to talk about the recent events involving the Titan submersible. The Titan submersible suffered an implosion during a dive to the Titanic wreck site in June 2023. All five people aboard were killed instantly and investigations revealed potential design flaws and concerns over the submersible's structural integrity. We also discuss the consideration of sex differences in biomedical research and medical care.
