On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start with some "shapes of things to come" - advance singles from upcoming albums by Belgium's Boogie Beasts (with special guest G. Love), Curtis Salgado, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dida Pelled, and Joyann Parker. Then we stack the new release deck with new singles by Hubert Sumlin, Pat Smillie, and Jo Hell plus album tracks from Michael Dinallo, Billy Thompson,, Charlie Barath, Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials, and the Altered Five Blues Band. The "history" part of the show starts with a 1950 classic from Tampa Red and continues with Ike Turner, Tiny Grimes, Bo Diddley, J.B. Lenoir, Albert King, B.B. King, Shakey Jake, John Primer, Peter Wolf, The Jeff Healey Band, and King Ernest. We'll close with a song from Julie Blues Project who'll be at La Trinquette (formerly L'Aquarium Café Bar) on Rue Masson in Rosemont on Friday, accompanied by Riot.

Hubert Sumlin  No Panties on the Bus (with narration)   Favoriting No Panties On The Bus - single  Vizztone Label Group  2026  In 2006 Hubert Sumlin spent a few days with VizzTone's Richard Rosenblatt and collaborated on this song, based on a story he liked to tell about Howlin Wolf coming home from the road and encountering a jealous, shotgun-wielding wife. There are two versions: One with Hubert telling the story over the solo sections, one with no talking over the solos. The narration is hilarious so ... This trilogy started without any idea that it would be such in early 2023, and will see its completion by the end of 2026. Street Opera is the middle installment. 2024 saw the first installment with the release of The Night’s Last Dance on Memphis International Records. Waiting for a Better Day – the third piece and Michael Dinallo’s first book – will be published later this year by David Greenberg’s [product] publishing. Love the Leslie effect on the guitar.
