Favoriting June 11, 2026: Introducing: The Shami Village

الضŵيعة (pronounced Ad-dayaa): The Shami Village is a cultural community space dedicated to fostering the well-being of Shamis living in Montreal. Fundamentally, and always, this initiative will be for and by the Shami community. Through our initiative, we aim to strengthen the unity between Shamis, regardless of their ethnicities and religions. We believe cultural connectedness among Palestinian, Jordanians, Syrians, and Lebanese will contribute to a stronger and healthier community. Members of the community will be leading, participating and benefiting from cultural events held within The Shami Village spaces. We will be constantly engaging with the community for event ideas and feedback, participation, and leadership opportunities. Our events will also be a safe space for members of the Shami community to ask for help reaching out to or following up with essential physical, mental and social resources adapted to their needs.
