Listener chat!

  9:06am Dirk Van Yank:

Good day, bonjour, Jeffrey.
Avatar 9:08am Jeffrey Davison:

Greetings and salutations, DVY, ye faithful listener!
  9:24am Dirk Van Yank:

I didn't know about clubs taking a percentage of artists' merchandise table sales.
Avatar 9:30am Jeffrey Davison:

@Dirk...yeah, it's the rule rather than the exception, as it once was. I'd be interested if someone came up with a rundown of who doesn't take a cut.
  9:48am Dirk Van Yank:

There is a John Jacob Niles music center at the University of Kentucky. I'd love to hear one of his old, big dulcimers in person, if possible.
  9:58am Dirk Van Yank:

Yeah, M. Ellington sounded similar to later Byrds.
  10:10am Dirk Van Yank:

I have to leave early. Thanks, Jeffrey!
Avatar 10:13am Jeffrey Davison:

See ya, Dirk...
  3:56am audiolog:

Thank you very much, Jeffrey. I think this is the best show in a last time. The best of the best!
  4:20am audiolog:

As for Yuri Morozov—he wasn't a rock star, as you said. He was a highly respected musician in the Leningrad (USSR) rock underground,
yet he was far less known in the rest of the Soviet Union than many other bands from Leningrad of that era.
In large part, perhaps, because he was not a member of any bands—he was primarily a studio musician who recorded his albums on his own.
Unlike well-known Leningrad bands such as Akvarium, Kino, Zoopark, Auktsion etc., Yuri Morozov is now virtually forgotten, and few people
are familiar with his music.
  9:58am Dee to the Jay:

@audiolog--Thanks for the detailed clarification. I don't know why I referred to him as a star. In looking a bit further, I found more info on him, which supports what you wrote here.
