Follow the frequency every Tuesday from 12 PM–2 PM to CKUT 90.3fm where ‘Universal Break’ delivers a culturally curated musical journey featuring deep, afro, classic & soulful house, nu-soul, future funk, amapiano, acid jazz & tropical rhythms. From pioneers like James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, and Hugh Masekela to house innovators including Masters At Work, Black Coffee, Honey Dijon, DJ Spen, Monique Bingham, Lady Alma, and Boddhi Satva, to contemporary voices such as Disclosure, Odeal, Amine, Machel Montano, Masaki Morii, and countless others, every show celebrates the music, artists, and cultures that continue to move cultural dance floors around the world.

Hosted by Preach Ankobia, a Montréal DJ, recording artist, cultural curator, and community builder who carries three decades of experience in music, performance, broadcasting, songwriting, event production, and grassroots cultural work. Preach began DJing at the age of 14 alongside Black Temple and has since contributed to some of Montréal's most influential cultural spaces, including Kalmunity, Westhaven, Hip Hop You Don't Stop, Under Pressure, Rise Reggae Festival, Osheaga, and the Montréal International Jazz Festival.

Alongside timeless hits and future classics, every broadcast shines a spotlight on Montréal's own creative energy, highlighting locally made music by artists such as Kaytranada, Pierre Kwenders, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Wayne Tennant, Samantha Hinds, Afrotronix, and many more. Every broadcast is rounded out with local news, community highlights, event announcements, and cultural conversations exploring the people, places, and ideas shaping Montréal's creative landscape.
