October 4, 2022: Talking about Death in the Black Community with Jonathan Emile
The month of October is a transitional month in many countries that experience a change in seasons. Culturally, in certain countries, this time is also one where the veil between the living and the spiritual world is at its thinnest. Death is inevitable, yet in "modern society" we seem to be ill equipped to speak about it. For the month of October, Soul Perspectives does a deep dive exploration with multiple guests and their experiences with death.
For the first show we speak with Jonathan Émile @jonathanemile_, a businessman, entrepreneur, grammy nominated hip-hop and reggae artist. Ironically, following a brush close to death with a bout of cancer in his teens, Jonathan says in one of his songs, that he promised the higher power that if he came out on the other side of that fight with his life, that he would dedicate his musical talents to change the world. He has been doing just that.
Join us Tuesday October 4, 2022 from 7-8.30pm for this in-depth discussion about life and death, either 90.3FM in Montreal, or www.ckut.ca
