May 9, 2023: Celebrating Black Mothers w/Anaïssa Dauphin

Anaïssa Dauphin, is Monique Dauphin’s first grandchild and daughter of her first child, Mélissa Dauphin. Born into a deeply cultural, artistic and political family in the city of Montreal where she spent the first 10 years of her life before moving to Jamaica.

In 2013, life changed when it required Anaïssa to adapt to a whole new lifestyle and culture in the heart of the Caribbean. Mixing her Haitian and Seychellois background with the Jamaican way of life was an amazing experience which built her into who she is today. In fact, while living there she worked with her mother running an eco-tourism business that exposed her to people from all over the globe.

Living in Jamaica added to her luggage of experiences and now that she has returned to her city of birth, she feels it more than ever. Feeling blessed, she was grateful to be part of a family led by her grandmother who instilled the love of Blackness, humility, spirituality, kindness, and especially the importance of impacting others into their lives.

Thanks to her grandmother and mother, Anaïssa is currently completing a DÉC with a focus on Law and Society. Active on social media, specifically Instagram and YouTube, she shares advice, knowledge about the Black experience alongside lifestyle content with the aim to inspire and impact as following in the footsteps of her role models, her family.

She plans to implicate herself as a catalyst for change and carry on with her grandmother’s legacy of social impact and militancy, through membership with an upcoming association for young black people in Montreal, called New Black Generation.

Anaïssa Dauphin works on many projects and ideas. At the tender age of 19 years, everything is still in development and growth, therefore, if you want to know more, follow her on social media.
