Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start out by celebrating our two consecutive weekend holidays. Representing la Fête nationale du Québec is a Gilles Valiquette classic interpreted by Quebec bluesman Mike DeWay, "Je Suis Cool". Canada Day is celebrated by Carlos Del Junco in "Mashed Potatoes Canada", a cross country tour adapted from the James Brown classic with vocals by the late, great John Dickie. Jazz Fest starts this week so I'll preview a few of the artists you can see this week - Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Buddy Guy, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, Dawn Tyler Watson, and Blackburn. Except for the Buddy Guy show all the others are free. This week's new releases are from Duke Robillard, Joanna Connor, and LH Express. In the "history" part of the show I've got Elizabeth Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Little Buddy Doyle, Peter Cleighton, Willie Dixon, Pee Wee Crayton, Johnny Smith, James Cotton, Lowell George, and Georgie Fame. We'll close with a song from Dwane Dixon who's at Bistro À Jojo & Modavie this week.
