Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start with a dozen of my favourite Canadian blues releases of 2023 so we'll hear from Guy Bélanger, Nigel Mack, James Anthony, Davis Hall & The Green Lanterns, Matt Andersen, Michael Jerome Browne, Brandon Isaak, Wayne Nicholson, JW-Jones, Garnetta Cromwell, The Sugar Darlings, and the Blackburn Brothers. In all I received about 60 new Canadian blues releases this year so this only represents a few of my own faves. Then we mourn the loss of another member of Montreal's blues community - Bat Taylor, with three live recordings with three different bands. An abbreviated "history" segment brings songs from Charlie Sayles, Kim Wilson, King Biscuit Boy, and Frank Goldwasser. We'll close by wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR with songs from Big Harp George, Jerome Godboo, Lightnin' Hopkins, Son Lewis Band, Lonnie Johnson, and my habitual year-end closer "Watch Them Resolutions" by Babs Gonzales.
