November 7, 2024: US Election / Is Israel Unstoppable? / Dehumanisation / Media Disinformation / UN condemns Canada

On this episode we will start with the US election. As people warned many times, the Arab-american community seems to have turned its back on the democrats during these latest election. We will look at what happened and what a Trump presidency means for West Asia. Than we will ask why this genocide against Palestinians was able to happen even while being filmed and is still able to continue today over a year later. Is Israel really unstoppable? How much the decades long dehumanization of Palestinians and Arabs in the west play a role in normalizing atrocities in the region? We will also look at the role of mainstream media and social media platforms in spreading the Israeli propaganda talking points. Finally we will come back to Canada and listen to a report about the latest visit to Montreal of the UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Francesca Albanese is visiting Canada to remind us to abide by international law. As she said to reporters in Montreal “I am not imploring to your charity and I’m not appealing to your moral, I’m asking you to respect international law because that is what you are supposed to do.”
