Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start out by congratulating the 2025 JUNO Award nominees for Blues Album Of The Year, Big Dave McLean, Samantha King & The Midnight Outfit, David Gogo, Sue Foley, and Blue Moon Marquee. We follow that with new singles from upcoming albums by Joanne Shaw Taylor, Eric Johanson, and Samantha Fish. This week's featured new releases are from McKenna Moonah Blues Duo, Heavydrunk And Watermelon Slim, and Big Al & The Heavyweights. In the "history" set we go back more than 100 years for a Bessie Smith track recorded this very day in 1923 and continue with Jabbo Smith's Rhythm Aces, Texas Johnny Brown (with Amos Milburn), Sam "Lightnin'" Hopkins, Henry Gray & Morris Pejoe, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Dutch Mason, Magic Dick & Jay Geils, and Lou Ann Barton (with SRV). We'll close with songs from Lady A, who will make a rare appearance at UPSTAIRS on Friday, and Jully Black who brings her Songs & Stories Tour to the Théâtre Outremont on Tuesday.
