March 4, 2025: Interview with Activist and InfluencerTabitha Tshimbalanga
Today on Soul Perspectives on CKUT 90.3FM, we’re thrilled to welcome an incredible guest whose journey and work are as inspiring as they are impactful. Please join us in welcoming Tabitha Tshimbalanga!
Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tabitha’s life took a dramatic turn during the wars of the 1990s, when she and her family fled to Germany. But adversity didn’t slow her down—it fueled her drive to make a difference. With a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and English Studies, she’s built a diverse career spanning digital marketing, project management, and interpreting.
But that’s just the beginning! Since childhood, Tabitha has been deeply rooted in church communities and associations, advocating tirelessly for the well-being of the diaspora. When she’s not travelling and blogging via congolesetravelholic, she’s collaborating with her siblings on their exciting concept kitchen projects, @tshitshis.casseroles and @tshitshis.welt on Instagram—where food meets culture and creativity. 🍲✨
And if that wasn’t enough, Tabitha is also a passionate political activist. With the @freecongo_kollektiv, she’s raising awareness about the injustices and colonial continuities still affecting the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her work is a powerful reminder of the importance of speaking truth to power and fighting for a more just world. ✊🏾🌍
Today, we’ll dive into her inspiring story, her activism, and the critical issues she’s working to address. So, buckle up—this is going to be a conversation you won’t want to miss!
