March 11, 2025: Interview with Spoken Word Artist & Health Care Practitioner Leyla H. Rabel
Welcome to Soul Perspectives on CKUT 90.3 FM 🌍🎙️, your weekly journey into the heart of soulful Black expression, every Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM ⏰. Tonight, we’re honored to introduce a remarkable voice home-grown from our city of Montreal—Leyla H. Rabel, also known as Elle Rabel 🎤✨. Born and raised in this vibrant city with a proud Haitian heritage 🇭🇹, Elle is a gifted spoken word artist, singer-songwriter 🎶, and storyteller whose words resonate with authenticity and passion 🔥.
Though she has dedicated much of her life to a career in healthcare ⚕️, writing has always been her true calling ✍🏾. Elle penned her first poem as a child, cleverly crafting it to convince her parents to get her a kitten 🐱—and she hasn’t stopped writing since. In 2019, she began sharing her craft on stage through open mic nights 🎤, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and heartfelt narratives 💖.
As an aspiring singer-songwriter 🎤🎵, Elle has honed her talents as part of the JAM Vocal Performance Choir 🎼, gracing stages at events like the St-Jean Parade 🎉, weddings 💒, Tour de l’Île de Montréal 🚴🏾♀️, and even in recording studios 🎧. She’s also lent her voice as a background singer 🎶, further showcasing her versatility and love for music 🎤. With a poetry book on the horizon 📖✨ and dreams of releasing her own music 🎵, Elle Rabel is a rising star 🌟 whose artistry continues to inspire.
Join us as we dive into her journey, her words, and her soul 🌊💬. This is Soul Perspectives, where the soul speaks and perspectives shift 🔄. 🎙️✨
