Congratulations to the winners of this year's Blues Music Awards announced by the Blues Foundation in a gala ceremony held May 9. We pay tribute with songs from Shemekia Copeland, Piper & The Hard Times, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Curtis Salgado, Sue Foley, Mike Zito, and John Primer & Bob Corritore. Next come the hottest new blues(y) singles from Joe Bonamassa, Merel van de Keer, Stefan Hillesheim, Robbert Duijf, Bloodshot Bill, Suede & 'Lene, TajMo, and Bob Scienza & The Wigs. In the "history" set we've got Dr. Isaiah Ross, Sonny Boy Williamson II (Rice Miller), B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Earl Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Little Willie John, Alan Gerber, Gil Scott-Heron, and Teresa James. We'll close with a song from Jitterbug Swing who'll be at Café La Place Commune in Park Ex on Friday.
