On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we reap a new crop of singles where Doyle Bramhall II covers a blues classic, Roomful Of Blues, GeminiiDRAGON and The Zac Schulze Gang preview their new albums, Pat Smillie drops a new single, Marc Broussard covers a Ray Charles classic and Glenn Alexander backs his daughter Oria's reinterpretation of a Janis Joplin hit. This week's featured new releases are from Cape Breton's Angelo Spinazzola, guitar icon Kirk Fletcher, and both new albums from the Burnsides, Garry & Kent. In the "history" set we start in 1931 with Lonnie Johnson and continue with Blind Willie McTell, The Four Blazes, Robert Anderson, T-Bone Walker, Lazy Lester, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, and birthday boys Bruce Katz, Colin James, & John Campbelljohn. We'll close with a song from Colin Perry & Peter Mika who'll be providing the music for this week's "Mercredi Swing" at Café La ligne Verte on Wednesday. Arrive early for the free swing dance lesson.

  Talk Time ID         In July 2023, Kirk Fletcher had a stroke onstage at East Tennessee, prompting pals Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith to launch a fundraising auction to support him with medical bills. In early November Kirk Fletcher made his return to the stage in Tulsa, Oklahoma alongside them, and a video posted by Bonamassa to Instagram showed him back to his best.

Garry Burnside  Hanging In There   Favoriting It’s My Time Now  Strolling Bones Records  2025  Garry Burnside, youngest son of legendary Hill Country bluesman, R.L. Burnside, cut his teeth playing with his famous father and older siblings while growing up, beginning his professional career at the tender age of eleven. Garry spent his teens and twenties as the protégé, longtime bass player and occasional guitarist for neighboring Mississippi Blues legend, Junior Kimbrough. Following Kimbrough’s death in 1998 he began playing and recording regularly with the North Mississippi Allstars.
