Favoriting August 24, 2025: SHAPES OF THINGS TO COME! NEW RELEASES! This Week In Blues History! Where It's At (The Live Music Roundup)!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we present shapes of things to come - advance singles from upcoming albums by the Blood Brothers (Mike Zito & Albert Castiglia), Parisienne YouTube guitar prodigy Laura Cox, a debut single from Mustang Red and pure gospel from Robert Finley. Speaking of "things to come" these first four new releases had previously dropped singles but now their time has come because they all share a release date of August 22 - Chambers Deslauriers, The Texas Headhunters, Robert Jon & The Wreck, and Bywater Call. Also sharing that date are Rory Block and Guy Belanger. Since I'm stacking so high on the new release deck let's toss in new music from Angelique Francis and Monster Mike Welch.. In the "history" set we start in 1935 with Buddy Moss and continue with Blue Lu Barker, Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, Vann "Piano Man" Walls, Jimmy Rushing, Jimmy Reed, Hop Wilson, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. We'll close with a song from Steve Hill who'll be participating in Bistro À Jojo's 50th Anniversary festivities on Friday. A rare opportunity to catch Steve in such an intimate venue!
