Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we'll predict the shapes of things to come with new singles from future albums by The Altered Five Blues Band, Mike Finnigan, Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials, Warren Hanes' contribution to Joe Bonamassa's B.B. King tribute, Bywater Call, Luke Winslow-King, Eliza Neals, and Jamiah Rogers & Dirty Chxrch. Hot on the heels of Lily Sazz's "What Just Happened" two more Canadian blues women have released new albums - Debra Power and Cheryl Lescom are on the new release deck, as well as the trio headlining the 2026 Ruf Records Blues Caravan, Elise Frank, Matthew Curry, and Laura Chavez, all of whom have (or will have) new albums. The "history" part of the show goes back to a 1927 recording by Blind Willie Johnson and continues with Will Batts, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Eddie Taylor, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Champion Jack Dupree, Babs Gonzales, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Omar & The Howlers, and Luther Dickinson. We'll close with a song from Steve Rowe who is appearing at a swing dance event hosted by Studio 88 Swing on Saturday at Espace 215. Arrive early for the dance lesson. Stay late cause the band is great.

Cheryl Lescom and the Tucson Choir Boys  Nothing To Do But You   Favoriting Last Call  Busted Flat Records  2025  "..but these days with streaming and downloading and no CD players in cars or any f@#*in’ way to make recorded music profitable. It's not a good retirement plan, so I can’t see myself doing too many more albums. Maybe a “ Best Of “ or if I win the lottery.” The songs on Last Call are written from some understanding of life’s changes and unfortunately, endings. When you’re young it’s about tomorrows and hellos. When you’re older it’s about yesterdays and goodbyes.
