On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Favoriting July 26, 2026: SHAPES OF THINGS TO COME! NEW RELEASES! This Week In Blues History! Where It's At (The Live Music Roundup)!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start with "Shapes Of Things To Come" ... advance singles from upcoming new albums by Steve Cropper, Secondhand Dreamcar, Cliff Stevens, Keb’ Mo’, Buddy Miller, Ghost Hounds, Katie Knipp, and The Damn Truth. This week's featured new releases are a mix of albums & singles by The Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra, Tas Cru, McKinley James, The Commoners, and The Zac Schulze Gang. The history part of tonight's show starts in 1935 with Tampa Red, followed by music from Alberta Adams, Willie Dixon, Freddie King, Aretha Franklin, Kenny Burrell (did you know that he also sang???), Morris Pejoe, Lightnin' Slim, Roy Milton, Mike Bloomfield, Classie Ballou, Buddy Guy, Tony D, and the Carolyn Fe Blues Collective. I don't know if three guitar instrumentals is my max - it could have been more if I hadn't picked an oddball Kenny Burrell vocal tune. We'll close the show with a song from the Justin Saladino Band who will be appearing at Bistro du Rucher on Thursday under the aegis of "Folk & Blues Des Cantons".

Listener chat!

  1:54pm George Akiki:

It was the perfect show for a relaxed and easy cycle.
I finished supper around 19:30, went out cycling at 21:00, while listening to your show, they were excellent songs for an slow and comfortable ride. Until we hit Hell Hounds On My Trail, but the best and biggest surprise was Justin Saladino, I confirm; he has the blues chopps.
Very good show sir John. 👍🏼
