Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we celebrate some of the Canadian artists who made it onto the Big Blues Chart for airplay in September: Jake Soberlak, Garret T. Willie, Danny Marks, Bywater Call, Angel Forrest, Honeybear-the Band, Kevin Mark, Robin Banks, Crystal Shawanda, and Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar. About half of the top 50 are, in the words of Don Cherry, "good Canadian boys & girls". This week's featured new releases are from Bernard Allison with Larry McCray, Ayden Hutch, Jad Tariq, Mike Mostert with Eric Gales, and The Boneshakers. The history part of the show starts with a 1923 song from Bessie Smith And Clara Smith (no relation), and continues with Howlin' Wolf, Eddie Boyd, Little Walter, J.B. Lenoir, The Oscar Moore Quartet, Oscar Brown Jr., Danny Gatton & Joey DeFrancesco, Duke Robillard, Ben Racine, and Rick Estrin. We'll close the show with Vermont's All Night Boogie Band who will be at Casa Del Popolo on Friday. Mr. Pinstripes opens.
