Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue let's start with new singles. Three of these songs are "stand-alone" singles, the rest are advance tracks from upcoming albums by the 11 Guys Quartet, Alex Kilroy, Julian Taylor, Pat Smillie, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Tommy Z, Sherman Holmes, and Eric Johanson. Give yourself some points if you know which is which. Elise Frank, Laura Chavez, and Matthew Curry are playing lazy poker on the Ruf Records Blues Caravan while Ray Wylie Hubbard saw some gods playing poker. Ben Poole, Angel Forrest, Kevin Mark, Big Harp George, and Crystal Shawanda have just released new albums. The history part of the show starts with a 1929 song from Victoria Spivey, and continues with Peetie Wheatstraw, Billie Holiday, John Brim, B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Otis Rush, Popa Chubby, A.J. Croce, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Keb’ Mo’. We'll close the show with Son Of Dave who brings his beatboxing one-man blues band to Turbo Haüs on Friday.
