Ja “Jigsaw” Britton Johnson is an artist with extensive knowledge of various street styles, with a focus on Hip Hop and Krump. He began working in hip hop with 2marvelous, then ventured into Krumping in 2006. 15 years into his art, Jigsaw has become one of the new generations of leaders of Krump in Canada. He is also part of MKA (Montreal Krump Alliance) a not-for-profit dance organization and now dances for Ebnflōh Dance Company led by Montreal’s Hip Hop pioneer Alexandra ‘Spicey’ Landé.

In 2012 Ja began filmmaking, being a self-taught filmmaker, his motivations when he began was and still is to showcase the vast artistry in his community. He got his first start with the help of a small grant, granted by the Young Volunteer Program in Montreal, Canada. With that grant, he purchased his first Nikon camera and made his first behind the scenes documentary called Art-Terre the same year.

With his dedication to the art of dance, he has performed at 100Lux festival for Juxtapose led by Saxon Fraser; this same piece was presented at Breakin’ Convention in Toronto in the summer of 2017 with Juxtapose, Recently, we saw him in the show, Un temps pour tout, by Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, presented at Festival TransAmériques (Theatre Maisonneuve), Festival Furies (Gaspésie) in 2021, before the year 2022 he had performed his third piece with Ebnflōh presented by Danse Danse “La Probabilité du Néant” presented at Theatre Maisonneuve and will soon begin touring his first ground-breaking piece with the company “In-Ward” in 2022.
