CKUT’s Annual Funding Drive is BACK from May 2nd–11th, 2025, and this year we’re Booming & Blooming louder and brighter than ever. Our goal: $55,000 to power the future of independent, community radio in Montreal.
When you donate to CKUT, you’re not just supporting a station. You’re planting a seed in a wild garden of sound, storytelling, and resistance. CKUT is powered by YOU – our community – and your support helps us stay independent, accessible, and alive.

Why Donate to CKUT?
We don’t accept corporate funding. That means no ads for oil companies, no commercial influence, no compromise. We are community-powered and people-first, broadcasting radio by and for the communities of Montreal.
For over 35 years, CKUT has:
- Provided a platform for underrepresented voices
- Trained thousands in grassroots radio production
- Offered eclectic music, hard-hitting news, and bold cultural programming
- Remained a hub for experimentation, education, and empowerment
Your donations directly fund:
- Rent, bills, and studio space
- Our FM broadcast tower and transmitter
- Equipment repairs and upgrades
- Online streaming and archives
- Salaries for our small, dedicated team

We’re celebrating everything that makes CKUT and Montreal vibrant – from the deep-rooted community ties to the new voices sprouting on our airwaves. Whether you’re tuning in for the underground music, radical news, or just here for the vibes, CKUT is your sonic garden.

We keep it real. Here’s what your donations make possible:
- Monthly rent and studio utilities
- FM transmission costs
- Streaming, archiving, and tech upgrades
- Full-time staff salaries
- Volunteer training and support
- Gear: from microphones to mixer repairs to headphone pads
