Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we're still COVID aware and this is my 144th show recorded at home. It's Superbowl Sunday and while I'm not personally a fan I dug up a few somewhat appropriate blues songs from Zora Young, Ann Rabson, Mamie Smith, and Mr. Sports Jazz. This week's featured new releases are from Joe Louis Walker and Damon Fowler as well as a trio of new euro-blues from the Stef Paglia Trio, Annika Andersson & The Boiling Blues Band, and the Blues Fighters. In the "history" part of the show I've got Bessie Smith, Blind Boy Fuller, Lonnie Johnson, Big Joe Turner, Magic Sam, Little Walter, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Mike Bloomfield, Toronzo Cannon, and Sugaray Rayford. We'll close with a song from Fuel Junkie in anticipation of their Thursday appearance at Upstairs.
