Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we're still COVID aware and this is my 147th show recorded at home. The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has announced the 2022 semi-finalists so I scoured the list for our Canadian blues friends and found Debra Power, Blue Moon Marquee, Crystal Shawanda, Victor Nesrallah, Durham County Poets, and Suzie Vinnick. Their songs that won the judges' favour make up our first set. (The ISC is now accepting entries for the 2023 competition. Go to https://www.songwritingcompetition.com for info.) This week's featured new releases are from The Cash Box Kings, Matt Andersen, and John Primer. In the "history" part of the show I've got Lucille Bogan, Tommy Douglas, Tampa Red, T-Bone Walker, J. B. Lenoir, Little Charlie Baty, John Németh, Ronnie Earl, and Selwyn Birchwood. We'll close with a song from Paolo Stante who is playing this Friday at Brutopia.
