Massimadi, Canada’s premier festival for LGBTQ+ Afro cinema and arts, is back for its 16th edition from October 23 to 27, 2024! This year, they’re diving deep into the themes of Rebirth and Resilience, showcasing an inspiring lineup of 15 powerful films that tell stories of healing, transformation, and the strength to overcome struggle. Join them for a vibrant journey through diversity and creativity

Our guest this evening is entrepreneur & founder of Selfish Swimwear, Naomie Caron who is also Massimadi’s General Manager after starting as the project manager of MOMENTUM, an initiative by the Massimadi Foundation supporting emerging Afroqueer talent. Through the screenwriting mentorship program, she guides and elevates new creative voices. With a passion for storytelling and expertise in project management, Naomie fosters an environment for talent to thrive, focusing on authentic Afroqueer representation. Her dedication makes MOMENTUM a powerful platform for artistic excellence and increased visibility for Afroqueer creators in the film industry, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to a more inclusive world.
