The first show of the new year and the first show of my 36th year at CKUT! Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue you'll hear a selection of my favourite new releases from the approximately 250 that I received this year. It's almost chronological in that each of the four sets represents about a quarter of the year so we'll hear from Mike Zito, Kevin Burt, Bernard Allison, The Wicked Lo-Down, Anthony Geraci, Johnny Burgin, Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, Big Harp George, Mark Hummel, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Curtis Salgado, Jubu Smith, Albert Castiglia, Chris Cain, Little Georgie and The Shuffling Hungarians, Kid and Lisa "Little Baby" Andersen, Misty Blues, Duke Robillard, Shemekia Copeland, Tab Benoit, Mitch Woods, Vaneese Thomas, B.B. King, Eric Bibb, and The Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra featuring Willy Jordan. Please don't mistake this for a "Best Of" list - that's too subjective to be truly valid. Sorry I couldn't include more but it's a two hour weekly show. I'd like to thank everyone for the opportunity to bring you the blues on the radio for all these years and wish you all a happy and prosperous new year. It's not gonna be an easy one and we'll need the comfort of music to help us through it.
