January 14, 2025: Interview with Artist & Peace Technologist: Aishatu Ado
Tune in every Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM Eastern Standard Time to Soul Perspectives on CKUT 90.3 FM or online at www.ckut.ca. With our guest tonight, we will dive deep into the intersections of art, technology, and social justice.
Join us as we welcome Aishatu Ado (she/her), a dynamic Peace Technologist, AI Ethicist, writer, poet, and visual artist. Aishatu is passionate about advocating for social justice and harnessing the power of technology to spark crucial conversations surrounding AI’s impact on marginalized communities. Recognized as one of the Top 100 Brilliant and Inspiring Women in AI Ethics by Lighthouse3, she works at the cutting edge of technology—integrating tools like Deep Learning, VR/AR, and Blockchain to push for equity and inclusion.
Aishatu’s artistic vision weaves Afro-feminist cosmovisions with ancestral oral traditions and mythologies. She has contributed to literary and visual arts in projects like Parables of AI in/from the Majority World and the NFT collection To Each Their Own Reality. Her work has been showcased globally, including at the Mozilla Festivals, Augmented Reality Amsarfest in Amsterdam, and the Afrofuturist arts events The 6th Dimension.
In addition to her literary and artistic accomplishments, Aishatu was commissioned to create an NFT artwork that captivated over 10,000 investors and designed an exclusive piece for Procter & Gamble’s innovation conference. Her impactful creations also include participating in the Love Mandela NFT Project, which supports the Nelson Mandela Memorial Garden.
Stay tuned in to Soul Perspectives for an inspiring hour and a half of conversations with thought leader Aishatu Ado as we explore the transformative power of art, technology, and activism.
