On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start our first of two FUNDING DRIVE SHOWS with new singles from Chambers DesLauriers, D.K. Harrell, GA-20, Joe Bonamassa, Aging Disgracefully, and Robert Randolph. This week's featured new releases are by Ginger St. James, Janiva Magness, and John Primer. In the "history" set we've got Sippie Wallace, Blind Willie McTell, Blue Lu Barker, H-Bomb Ferguson, Muddy Waters, Billy Boy Arnold, Cornell Dupree, Albert King, and A.C. Reed. We'll close with a song from Colin Perry who'll be sharing a triple bill with Stony Loner & Blanche Moisan Methe at Bar de Courcelle on Wednesday.

  Talk Time ID         Hamilton singer/songwriter Ginger St. James has just released her fourth album following "Diesel & Peas" in 2015, “One For the Money” in 2016, and 2019’s “Live At Knox Farms”. Ginger wrote all the songs and sings all vocals. The rest of the band is comprised of Snowheel Slim, guitar; Chris Altmann, bass, pedal steel, piano and organ; and Cleave Anderson, drums.

  Talk Time ID         Alfonzo “John” Primer was born in Camden, Mississippi, in 1945 on sharecropper land and grew up working in the fields. He migrated to Chicago with his mother in 1963 and began his blues career playing for tips on Maxwell Street. He played guitar in Willie Dixon’s Chicago Blues All-Stars and in The Muddy Waters Band. He later joined Magic Slim and the Teardrops.
