Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue our second FUNDING DRIVE SHOW coincides nicely with Mother's Day! Before we get down to business let's wish a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY in song from Katie Webster, Koko Taylor, Billy Boy Arnold, Super Chikan, Little Milton, the Memphis Royal Brothers, Barbara Diab, Matt Andersen, Johnny Winter, and Shemekia Copeland. Sometimes a song starts with "mother" but continues to "mother fuyer" and boy does AI not understand that concept. I stumbled into an AI Overview that states that "mother for you" is " ... a common idiom used to describe someone who is a good friend, partner, or confidant, offering guidance and care." We get the true meaning in songs by Memphis Minnie, B.B. King, Chick Willis, and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. OK. Time to ask for donations so here are some money shots from Buddy Guy, Katarina Pejak, Mitch Woods, and the Wild Bill Davis Trio. In the "history" set we've got Bessie Smith, Wee Bea Booze, Little Walter, Henry Gray, Howlin' Wolf, Big Maybelle, Katie Webster & Ashton Savoy, Ray Charles, and Albert King. We'll close with a song from Fuel Junkie who'll be at Upstairs on Thursday.
