On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start with hot new singles from Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Finley, Robert Jon & The Wreck, Warren Haynes, and the Blood Brothers. This week's featured new releases are from the Renovation Blues Band, Glenn Marais, JP Leblanc, Misty Blues, Devon Allman, and Little Magic Sam. In the "history" set we start in 1934 with Walter Roland and end in the near future (July 30, to be precise) with Buddy Guy. Along the way we'll hear Tampa Red, Kenny Burrell, Aretha Franklin, Classie Ballou, Morris Pejoe, Lightnin' Slim, Billy Lee Riley, Willie Dixon, Roy Milton, Freddie King, and Tony D. We'll close with a song from Dwane Dixon who'll be performing at Bistro À Jojo on Tuesday.

One of the stars of this musical gathering is Jimmy Hall, who some may know as lead singer and harmonica player of southern-rock group Wet Willie or for his collaborations with Jeff Beck. Hall puts his stamp on the record almost immediately, singing and blowing up a storm on its de facto theme song, “Blues Is A Feelin’.” The track is a big, brawny, propulsively rhythmic celebration delivered by eight musicians who share an obvious passion for the blues.
