On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we start with new singles from Harrell "Young Rell" Davenport, Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers, Ndidi O, and Bywater Call plus selections from the latest releases by Robbin Kapsalis, Hudspeth & Taylor, Alex Beraldo, and Al Basile. This week's featured new releases are from Father 'N' Son (contest winners for "Quebec To Memphis"!), The Lucky Losers, and GeminiiDRAGON. The "history" part starts in 1924 with Alberta Hunter and continues with Big Bill Broonzy, Black Ace, Ike Turner, Muddy Waters, Magic Sam, Eddie Harris, Alex Schultz, Rory Block, William Clarke, Finis Tasby, and Delbert McClinton. You'll have two opportunities to catch one of Montreal's finest deep dish Chicago style blues bands this week when the Otis Ali Blues Group takes the stage Thursday at Upstairs and Saturday at Café Komma Rosta in Verdun so we'll close with a song that they've only ever released on Facebook.

She says, "I wrote this song in response to being middle-aged in a culture and an industry that has always favoured the young."

Bywater Call  Ain't No Friend Of Mine   Favoriting Ain't No Friend Of Mine - single  Indie  2025  Bywater Call have released a their new single “Ain’t No Friend of Mine”, a brand-new song that will appear on their forthcoming studio album to be released next year. It's is a blues rock anthem about betrayal and broken friendship.   Talk Time ID         Father 'N' Son has just released their sophomore album Night Time For Sinners, the follow-up to 2023's Dancing With The Devil (which had actually been released Father's Day weekend), recently won the Montreal Blues Society's "Quebec To Memphis" contest and will represent Quebec at the next International Blues Challenge in Memphis. FULL DISCLOSURE: YES, I WAS A JUDGE AT THAT CONTEST.
