Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we still have more music than we have time so let's start with singles from Seasick Steve, Belgium's Travellin' Blue, a recently unearthed live concert from Gregg Allman, Britain's Dani Wilde, Taj Mahal, Mike Zito, and Handsome Jack's fun new video. In the second set we'll hear from Hamilton's Kyle Pacey, Toronto's Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, Ireland's Gráinne Duffy, and British-Norwegian singer/guitarist Krissy Matthews and his Norwegian trio The Vikings. On a thematic tangent, see if you can figure out which two songs tonight were similarly inspired by contrasting road trip experiences. The answer is in the details in the enhanced playlist on my show page at ckut-dot-com. The "history" part of the show starts in 1924 with a song from Bessie Smith and continues with Alberta Hunter, Bumble Bee Slim, Jimmy Nolen, Little Willie John, Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King, Otis Spann, Professor Longhair, Sue Foley, John D. Loudermilk, Muddy Waters, William Clarke, and Pat Loiselle. We'll close with a song from harmonica ace Guy Belanger who will be at Beat & Betterave in the eastern townships on Saturday.
