On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue let's celebrate the winners of the inaugural Canadian Blues Music Awards by revisiting some of the great music that earned these accolades for Ollee Owens, Brandon Isaak, Sue Foley, Steve Marriner, Crystal Shawanda, Marcus Trummer, Guy Belanger, and The Harpoonist (AKA Shawn Hall). This week's new release deck is stacked with singles from Joanne Shaw Taylor, Danielle Nicole, Ghalia Volt, Kirk Fletcher & Erika Baier, Robert Jon & The Wreck, Russ Green, and Marc Broussard. The "history" part of the show again starts in 1924 with a song from Bessie Smith and continues with Peg Leg Howell, Clarence Williams, The Two Charlies, John Brim, Morris Pejoe, Howlin' Wolf, Michael Jerome Browne, Larry McCray, Shemekia Copeland, and Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials. We'll close with a song from Spencer Mackenzie who will bring his "Empty Chairs" tour to Val Morin on Saturday. I predict no empty chairs at all.
