Favoriting June 28, 2026: FESTIVALS! HOT NEW SINGLES! This Week In Blues History! Where It's At (The Live Music Roundup)!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue it's festival season and I have a few recommendations for free shows in the three festivals in town this week! First, from the Jazz Fest, we'll hear from Cécile Doo-Kingué, Larkin Poe, Guy Belanger, and Sue Foley. The DDO edition of the West Island Blues Festival takes place Saturday and we'll hear from Justin Saladino Band and Steve Rowe. The Festival De Blues De La Montérégie kicks off Wednesday in beautiful downtown Chambly and we'll hear Father 'N' Son, Julie Blues Project, and Barbara Diab. There are plenty more great artists to see but it's only a 2-hour show. And before we go to the festivals let's set the mood with the latest singles from the Texas Headhunters, The Rolling Stones, Ghost Hounds, Jovin Webb, Bywater Call, Anthony Geraci, Keb’ Mo’, and Taj Mahal. The history part of tonight's show starts in 1939 with Little Buddy Doyle, followed by music from Peter Cleighton, Memphis Slim, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Willie Dixon, Syl Johnson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Lowell George. Did I say three festivals? Oops - make that four. We'll close the show with Terry Gillespie who brings his unique stylings to the Cabaret Acoustique Nuits d’Afrique at Club Balattou on Friday.
